Not enough clear yellow vinyl comes across Rivet’s desk. The Assault’s Come On In is available on CD, too, but I prefer the 7″ version of this three-song EP. If Side A’s “Valley of the Dolls” isn’t enough for your inner pop culture junkie, “The OC” offers a breezy take on the FOX show’s most deliciously dysfunctional couple. (That’s Ryan and Marissa, not Seth and Summer.) The recording is a bit rough in spots, but hey, that’s punk rock. The all-female New York trio — they call themselves “an American sorority garage band” — is on tour now.
