This Sunday, September 3, Neumo’s will host the launch party for the latest issue of Seattle Sound, the newest glossy music rag to hit town. With DJ Sabzi (Blue Scholars/Common Market) on tunes, it’s no surprise to find out that Mass Line is behind the event. Advance tickets are $8, and it comes with a 6-month subscription to Sound – not a bad deal.

As far as Seattle’s burgeoning hip hop community is concerned, we appear to be in a lucky position. If it’s true what the rumors say, that hip hop (perhaps the Blue Scholars themselves) is the new Nirvana, then let’s get us out to these shows. One day there will be many people yearning for the times when they could see great hip hop for very little money, in a very little venue. These are the golden days. Take this opportunity to bask in the glow of knowing that one day, you’ll be ever-so-nostalgically remembering that you knew them when.
