Wanna give handmade gifts this year but don’t have the time or skill? Not to worry—you can shop online for clothes, accessories and tchotchkes galore, all produced through someone else’s hard work. Just try to give credit where credit’s due; your closest pals might be able to guess that you didn’t learn how to crochet over the weekend anyway.

Etsy should probably be your No. 1 destination. Search the thousands of Etsy shops by category, material or even color. Rivet’s picks include dark yet sweet art prints by The Black Apple, unique button sets from Button Empire, and Purl’s amigurumi (great for kids).

My My carries clothing, wallets, paper goods and lots more, all made by indie designers. Proprietess Taryn also writes the Handmade + Totally Awesome blog, a great source for other gift ideas.

Cut + Paste is a consignment shop featuring a great mix of “Partners in Craft.” Some of the items are a tad pricey, but they do go on sale. Check out the weird ties by Cyberoptix or scented candles from Beccalights for starters.

With 150 participating designers, Indie Finds is based on the idea of strength in numbers. When you find a product you like here, you’ll be whisked away to the creator’s own site. We wouldn’t mind finding stationery from Pink Loves Brown or a goodmorning, morning! bag under the tree.
