Holiday Gift Guide Part 5: Better Than Cash

Some of us just don’t have time to shop for fussy friends and relatives. Give a gift card that says, “You’re so cool I couldn’t possibly choose something to meet your standards.” Even if you’re really thinking, “You’re so hard to please I just gave up.” A few suggestions:

Buyolympia.com sells Rivet and is based in our state capital of Olympia. What more could a shopper want? Well, how about a bunch of neat T-shirts, paper products, household goods, books, journals, and jewelry to choose from? And how about gift certificates that can be e-mailed or printed? Also worth checking out: Elsewares, which carries a similar collection of products from an even wider range of designers.

Fred Flare’s motto is “stay cute!” And your trendiest pal will with a FF gift certificate, delivered by e-mail or Mr. Post (Wo)man, your pick. This shop sells stuff in many of the same categories as Buyolympia and Elsewares, but with a much sillier attitude than either.

Got a music or movie buff on your list? Treat ‘em to a gift subscription at eMusic or NetFlix.
