We Can’t Do It Without You

Five years ago, Rivet set out to shape our culture and communities by giving artists a way to be heard. Since then, we’ve watched countless independent publications come and go, drowned in a media market dominated by giants. But we’re still here — and we couldn’t have done it without you.

In 2006, Rivet published 96 writers and artists for nearly 6,000 print readers and 45,000 readers online. We secured six distributors who have made the magazine available on shelves in hundreds of stores throughout the United States. We launched this powerful new Web site and sold out our two most recent issues in a matter of weeks. The Utne Reader recently called us “fabulous and bright.”

With your support, in 2007 we will pay small stipends to our featured contributors for the very first time. We will move Rivet headquarters to an honest-to-goodness (albeit modest) office space at long last. Our artists deserve to be paid and our professional operation needs an appropriate home.

But we need your help. Please share in our commitment to art and independent media by making a gift to Rivet today.

Under the fiscal sponsorship of our publisher, The Shunpike, Rivet is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and your contributions to us are totally, completely, fully tax-deductible. If you would like to donate by check, please send us your mailing address, e-mail address and a check payable to The Shunpike.
