Big Red Dress
Posted by Andrea BenvenutoRivet Pick of the Week: This weekend is your last chance to catch Washington Ensemble Theatre’s one-woman show In DisDressNow: Redux, written and performed by the dazzling Marya Sea Kaminski and directed by Stranger-Genius-Award-winner Jennifer Zeyl. Here’s the deal, straight from the horses’ mouths:
First developed as part of the On the Boards Northwest New Works Festival in June 2006, the original In DisDress told the story of a girl wrestling meaning out of love, porn, and the folds of an enormous red hoop dress hiding a television. In In DisDress Now: Redux, Marya takes off the dress to shoot at destiny, dating, and the American Theatre straight from the hips. Funny, dirty, and heartfelt. Free karaoke provided all night.
Save yourself a seat for Thursday, Friday or Saturday night’s show via Brown Paper Tickets. For more info, visit WET online.
