When you finish your Chinese take out, you have the choice of throwing out the container, recycling it, or if you are Matt Neyens you will probably create a painting highlighting its utilitarian glory. Those familiar with RIVET have seen his witty portraits throughout the magazine for years. Ever the prolific artist, Neyens’ Protection (on display at Washington Ensemble Theatre) further explores the relationships between common packaging detritus.
