The Chop is coming to Seattle! And Eugene and Portland, too. The Chop is a rock band from San Francisco, via Delaware, and I’ll admit—their drummer is a dear friend of mine. For that reason (and since I’ve only ever heard their music on myspace), allow this SF Weekly quote to explain why you should see The Chop at the Comet Tavern this Thursday:

The Chop … found California AM radio gold when they reached our coast. Though the band is more than capable at three-part vocal honey, its demo recordings feature at least one dance floor–ready cut that imagines what Interpol would be like if it enjoyed Bauhaus more than Joy Division.
