We twiddle away at small things on opposite sides of the
apartment. While he is making soul crushing strums I am making
only a mess, spinning tangles out of paper.

He plays something soft and sad like the feeling when you last embrace your
lover.  Most especially it is the moment of pulling away, whentheir scent
fades as you unfold and you know that you won’t be able to recall their
smell one day when you are masturbating to their memory.
