The New York Times has announced that they are scrapping TimesSelect starting midnight tonight. This means that we are again allowed full access to all of the articles, including the columnists and the archives, all the time.
It was a rough test - to subscribe or not to subscribe? - during this period of elitist hoopla. The paper was testing out revenue streams, and thats okay, I suppose. But it’s wonderful that the restrictions are being lifted tonight. Are you one of the 200,000-plus new subscribers that got roped in with the TimesSelect scheme? Sucker!
No, really, I was one too for a few months. But no more! Victory for the free internet!
What about RIVETSelect? Anyone?

Hooray for that! I was always peeved when something I wanted to read was TimesSelect.

Yay, that is good news.
On that note, if you watch the SoHo Art Parade video on their website: http://video.on.nytimes.com/index.jsp?fr_story=749fcbada4e25b6db498903f248e2a67da63bfd9
you can spot the RIVET R19 cover artist Marc Lesser at the beginning of the video. He’s the fellow on the right at the beginning with the glass.
