The album sounds like days gone by, like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen—and it sounds like right now, too. Listen once and you’ll want to sing along, all haunting, sexy and sad. But the Dutchess and the Duke end with “Armageddon Song,” happy and clappy in spite of its name. And probably they’ll live happily ever after—but only the music tells the whole story, and you have to hear for yourself. Crank it on the open road with the wind in your hair.
