R21: The Right Issue will be our last
Posted by Leah BaltusYes, friends, it’s true. After seven amazing years and 21 issues of RIVET, the RIVET gang is moving on to new adventures. We cannot begin to express the full magnitude of this experience nor the gratitude we feel toward the many hundreds people who have contributed work, time, energy and money to this project over the years. Together, we have defied the odds of publishing and connected thousands of readers with new work and new ideas from writers, artists and designers of all kinds.
It has been a tremendous privilege to make this magazine and we are proud of the work we’re leaving behind on your bookshelves.
We are also planning to go out with a bang! Our final publication, R21: The RIGHT Issue, is due for release this October and we’ll be throwing one more big bash to support it and celebrate RIVET’s seven-year run. Please join us for an art auction and party Saturday, Oct. 4 at Grey Gallery & Lounge!

Over the seven years you developed a fresh magazine that gave many writers and artists a forum for their work. Years from now you will look back with great satisfaction at what you have accomplished. Well done!

Well kids, noblesse oblige. You are a talented, nay, gifted staff of editors, writers and artists and you lead the way showing what could happen when this collective genius puts its mind to work. We enjoyed River from infancy through maturity. It was fun watching you go from Xerox to glossy in a short period of time. Your writing was timely, challenging (oft times above our pay grade) but always entertaining and respectful. Rita and I wish you all well and hope that you will engage a new and creative undertaking real soon. Best of luck and GodSpeed to all of you!!!
